Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Show Qibla app does with your information. In short: there are no accounts, we ask for no personal details, and your location never leaves your device.
Your location
Your location is never transmitted, stored, or shared. It is used only on your iPhone, to calculate the direction and distance from where you are to the Kaaba in Mecca. The calculation happens entirely on the device.
You can withdraw location access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
Information we do not collect
The app does not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or photos. There is no sign-up and no login. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and never shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt, because it does not track you across other apps or websites.
Analytics
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how it is used in aggregate — how often it is opened, and whether the compass successfully finds a location. This includes usage data and identifiers such as a Firebase app-instance ID and the Apple Vendor Identifier (IDFV). These identify an installation, not a person, and are not combined with your location.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Apple issues a device token that is used, through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, to deliver occasional announcements and reminders. Your device joins broad groups such as all users and a group for your device's language, so that messages can be sent in a language you read.
Older versions of this app also registered the device token, device model, iOS version, and time zone with our own server, solely in order to send these notifications. That information is never sold and is not used to build a profile of you.
Advertising
The app is free and is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob. Ads are served on a non-personalized basis. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, a consent message is shown before advertising begins, and your choice is respected.
Service providers
The app relies on Google services — Firebase Analytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and AdMob — which process data under their own privacy terms. Apple operates the App Store and the push notification service.
Children
The app is a general-audience utility. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
- Turn off location access in iOS Settings at any time.
- Turn off notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
- Delete the app, which removes all data held on the device.
To have notification-related information for your device deleted, write to the address below.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date.
